Stained Glass Suncatcher Materials
All of our stained glass pieces are handmade in the UK using lead-free solder. We produce authentic, soldered stained glass artworks — never printed or acrylic — so you will receive a genuine, traditional piece every time. Every piece is handcrafted using the traditional Tiffany copper foil technique. We use lead-free solder throughout, which is safer for both people and the environment. Unlike traditional lead-based solder, which contains harmful substances, our lead-free solder is more eco-friendly as it helps to minimise the hazardous waste during production. We are always mindful to tread lightly and try to reduce our environmental impact wherever possible. Lead-free solder also forms a strong, durable bond, helping to enhance the longevity of each piece. All artworks are hand polished with a blend of natural beeswax and carnauba wax before shipping. This provides a natural protective coating to boost shine and prevent oxidation of the solder.
Stained Glass Care
Each piece is carefully handmade to order, meaning there may be subtle differences in the colour and texture of the glass. No two designs are ever identical, ensuring that every artwork is truly one of a kind. For the best effect, we recommend hanging your suncatcher in a window where it can catch and reflect natural light throughout the day. As with all stained glass, these items are delicate and may have sharp edges. They are intended for decorative purposes only and should be kept out of reach of children and pets. Indoor use is strongly advised, as exposure to the elements may cause the copper foil to weather over time and potentially weaken or crack. Wipe clean with a dry cloth, taking care around edges.
