Middlesbrough Lampshade Craft Workshop

Middlesbrough lampshade craft workshop is all about having fun, learning a wonderful new skill and most importantly taking something home with you that you will love and cherish for a long time. It is totally beginner friendly and designed for anyone to pickup and enjoy. 

Schedule Summary

In the workshop you will make either a 25cm, 30cm, 35cm or 40cm double sided lampshade in either table or pendant orientation. 

• Our workshop starts with a discussion about colour, pattern and how double sided lampshades work. We will discuss lampshade placement in the home and sizing techniques.
• You will then you get to choose your fabrics from our extensive collection, paying close attention to pairing combinations and pattern placement. You are also free to bring your own fabric.
• We will discuss in detail all of the parts of the lampshade and how they all work independantly as part of the whole structure as well as the tools required to make your shade.
• Once you have an understanding of all the parts we will prep your chosen fabric and the lampshade rings.
• You will then cut and adhere all of the fabric to the shade backing, carefully working your way from the inside out and layering the fabric and PVC in the correct order.
• Lastly, you will assemble the lampshade by rolling, pressing and tucking, all by hand in the traditional way. 

The workshop will take between 1 and a half to 2 hours and there will be ample opportunity to ask questions and develop a great understanding. You don’t need to bring anything with you. Hot beverages will be available.
